Las Vegas Raiders sign Jakobi Meyers to three-year deal

The Las Vegas Raiders have reportedly signed former New England Patriots wide receiver Jakobi Meyers to a three-year, $33 million deal. Meyers, who went undrafted in 2019, played two seasons with the Patriots, catching 105 passes for 1,358 yards and six touchdowns. He had a breakout season in 2021, catching 84 passes for 1,119 yards and three touchdowns.

This signing fills a need for the Raiders, who have been searching for a reliable option at the wide receiver position. Meyers has proven to be a consistent and dependable target, and his ability to move the chains should provide a boost to the Raiders' offense.

Meyers' signing is also significant in that it represents a shift in the Raiders' approach to free agency. In recent years, the team has been criticized for overspending on high-profile free agents who have failed to live up to expectations. This signing shows that the team is now looking to make more calculated and cost-effective moves in free agency.
